The words I am writing are coming from my heart. I am a toddler who has just started to wander into the spiritual world with the blessing of Allah to learn the true nature of myself and my place in creation.
Knowing and witnessing the Beautiful Names of Allah is a pure stream that has enabled me to look deeper into existence and creation and witness the blissful and awakened state of consciousness.
May Allah helps me with a better understanding of the manifestations of His Beautiful Names.
Note: ALLAH, HU and RUB belong to the One and the Only God. The complete essence of names is beyond explanation in literary meanings. However, some attributes of these names have been explained in the Quran for mankind to understand the Nature of the Truth.
ALLAH
Islam teaches us to believe in ONE GOD, who is the creator of the whole creation, and all creation belongs to HIM, including the creation of thought and action. “Allah” is the unique name of Him in Islam. In Arabic, Allah means "the Being Who comprises all the attributes of perfection”. The Being Who is perfect in every way (in His knowledge, power, etc.), and possesses the best and the noblest qualities imaginable in the highest degree.
Also, “Allah” is considered a particular and the most comprehensive name of the ONE and ONLY GOD, which combines and includes all the attributes of other Divine Names of Allah.
The essential meaning of Allah is deep, passionate love, and all other Divine Names are different aspects of this One Love. The 99 Divine names were given to us to help us break through our true nature and to the source, the origin, of all existence.
PRACTICE
There are many ways to benefit from the name Allah, especially when you feel low, worthless and helpless. As said above, Allah’s essential meaning is deep, passionate love. This can be experienced by sitting in a meditative pose and feeling the deep passionate love of Allah in one’s heart by reciting it a few times and then letting the recitation go.
Some Sufis like to write the name Allah on their hearts to observe the full attention of the heart and mind while doing the recitation of Allah. Adopt the process as you wish because the heart is the key to sacred knowledge.
HU
In Islamic philosophy, HU is the inner essence of the reality of everything that is perceived. It is said that it starts with “awe then nothingness” is experienced, and the Reality of HU can never be attained. HU denotes absolute incomprehensibility and blankness. However, when the HU is used with the other Divine Names, it means the inconceivable absolute essence of that Divine Name. HU is like starting from the essence of the attribute and going back to the attribute of the essence. The name Allah is also considered the manifestation of HU.
In Quran, HU relates to many Divine Names, such as:
HU ALLAH is AHAD
HU is REHMAN and RAHIM
HU is AWWAl, AKHAIR, ZAHIR and BATIN
HU is ALY and AZIM
HU is SAMI and BASIR
PRACTICE
The Sufi goes into the sounds of ALLAH HU through (dhikr) so that Divine Source can be witnessed.
Allah Hu is the most powerful dhikr described in Sufi tradition. It should not be done without the proper guidance of a spiritual teacher.
At times, I add Allah Hu at the end of my healing dhikr. I recite Ya Shafi (the Healer) and Ya Kafi (the divine Remedy), and Allah Hu (the absolute essence).
RUB
It is the first name Allah used to introduce Himself to the Messenger of ALLAH, the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). In Arabic, RUB means the owner (Malik), but it is different from Malik when used for Allah because the name RUB has several other implications attached to its meaning when denoted to ALLAH.
RUB means the absolute owner who has complete authority and is in charge of things (Al Syed); The one who ensures the growth and maturity of things (Al Marabi); The one who guides and sets things in the right direction (Al Murshid); The one who grants gifts (Al Munim); The one who ensures the existence of the subject (Al Quyam).
In simple words, RUB means the One and the Only Lord for all the universe, its Creator, Owner, Organizer, Provider, Master, Planner, Sustainer, Cherisher, and Giver of security. Rub is also one of the Names of ALLAH.
Allah calls Himself Ar-Rabb— The Lord, the Master— on more than 900 occasions in the Quran.
I have not yet experienced any dhikr for the word RUB. Therefore, I am not in a position to comment on its dhikr.
